The Teacher

Phaedra Moll
Phaedra teaches harp and piano; she is also a performing artist and in the greater Kansas City area. Phaedra earned her Masters of Music in Music Theory from the University of Missouri—Kansas City, Conservatory of Music and Dance. Her Bachelor of Arts degree in Harp Pedagogy (the art of teaching) was earned at Mid-America Nazarene University in Olathe, KS.
Teaching music lessons is a passion for Phaedra. She desires to understand brain development and uses that in her teaching according to readiness and learning style of each individual student. Phaedra also believes in using movement and games to keep lessons and learning fun, uplifting, and offer a tactile approach to learning otherwise abstract concepts prior to using them on the instrument. She will work with the student and parent(s) to reach the goals they seek to achieve in music. Phaedra strives to help each student appreciate music and learn a love for many styles of this art form that will last a lifetime.
Many of Phaedra's students have been successful in achieving their goals throughout the years. Some of these goals have included earning a high score at an adjudicated event, winning competitions, winning awards and being invited to perform as a special guest, and even get accepted into the music college of their dreams. Several students have maintained contact long after lessons have ceased. This studio often results in close relationships with not only a student, but their entire family.
Phaedra has played numerous events as a soloist; as well as with a variety of ensembles, such as the sanctuary orchestra at College Church of the Nazarene, orchestra of the Kansas Nutcracker Ballet, Olathe Community Orchestra, St. Joseph Symphony Orchestra, Medical Arts Symphony Orchestra, Kansas City Civic Orchestra, Bangor Symphony Orchestra in Bangor, ME and toured with the Portland Symphony Orchestra Strings Kinder-Concerts in Portland, ME.
Phaedra has studied harp with three great harpists/pedagogues: Deborah Wells-Clark,
Jara Goodrich and Alice Chalifoux. Phaedra teaches the Salzedo harp technique. Phaedra had multiple piano instructors and studied piano pedagogy with Karen McClellan.
